Activities / Attractions
  • Tours / Hiking / Self-guided
Birders and Nature Enthusiasts alike will have the opportunity to appreciate and take advantage of a well maintained, 6 foot wide trail, with bird feeding and nesting stations, and information on flora and fauna along the way.
  • Tours / 4 Wheel Drive
Visit deserted silver mines or rent an ATV and spend a day exploring old winding bush roads.
  • Outdoor Games / Horseshoe Pit
Challenge your friends to a game of horseshoes.
  • Programs / Relaxation
Nothing can compare to curling up in the front of a boat with a good book while the waves gently rock you into slumber land.
  • Swimming / Beach / Private
Swimming happens off the large docks with the water being around 10 ? 12 feet deep. A short walk takes you to a large sandy-bottomed access with no weeds or yucky spots. A great place to frolic with the deepest place at about 5 feet.
  • Trek / Casual Hikes
Tired of fishing, there is a lot to do at Lost Lake. Hiking and exploring along interpretive marked trails is invigorating. Visit deserted silver mines.
  • Tours / Horseback Riding
Drive ½ hour to Elk Lake and enjoy a day of horseback riding with an experienced trail guide.
  • Tours / Historical
There are several small museums to visit including one in Gowganda that features mining from the past and one in Elk Lake which is dedicated to the preservation of the early history of Elk Lake.

Angling

  • Bass
Imagine a large bass leaping into the air after a bug and splashing 2 feet away from your buddy sleeping in the boat. A rude awakening. But, somehow up here it seems almost ok.
  • Walleye
Lot's of good fishing happens right from the dock in front of your cottage. Bass and walleye are easy to catch most days.
  • Northern Pike
The odd huge Northern Pike will sometimes take anything that you have just caught, such as one of those nice bass or walleye. An eye popping experience indeed whether you are 2 or 102 years old.
  • Trout / Speckled Trout
The Brook Trout here are not to be confused with the tiny "brookies" caught down south in streams. The "brookies" here are quite big, averaging over a pound with some in the 2, 3 and 4 pound range or even larger.

Nature and Adventures

  • Wildlife Viewing / Birds
Hummingbird feeders and nesting stations bring a wide variety of birds right outside your cabin door. Birds that are never seen in the south are common here.
  • Wildlife Viewing / Ungulates / Moose
Salt licks for moose along with bear feeding stations are maintained to enhance your photographic chances of these magnificent wild animals.
  • Wildlife Viewing / Wolves
Want to go howling for wolves? We will teach you how and show you where to go. Be careful though, their eerie answer will send shivers down your spine.
